Between 1998 and 2000, Laurent lived for two years in Western Canada, in Vancouver. Laurent is a Computer Science Master degree graduate from ESIGELEC and is certified in Mining Investment from the Corporate Finance Institute. After working in several sectors (telecom, software engineering, astrophysics) in Canada, the United States, Germany, and France, he soon shifted to Hard Commodities (precious and industrial) and Mining Industry research, relying on a network of geologists, explorers, and miners.
